November 7, 2002

Latitude Technologies today announced receipt of development support from the National Research Council’s Industrial Research Assistance Program (NRC-IRAP).  The contribution will enable Latitude to pursue research and development of its advanced LWS Sentinel wireless data management system, through the hiring of a MSc graduate qualified in Global Information Systems.  Funds for this project were made available through IRAP by Human Resources Development Canada (HRDC).

Latitude President, Mark Insley, after announcing the IRAP/HRDC funding, took time to recognize the importance of Government of Canada support for the high tech industry.  “The National Research Council’s Industrial Research Assistance Program is an integral contributor to Canada’s world-renown high tech industry.  For emerging technology companies such as Latitude, NRC-IRAP support enables us to conduct important research leading to new products and services.  NRC-IRAP support also allows us to employ recent graduates, giving these future technology industry leaders valuable on-the-job experience.”
