SkyNode® S200 completes DO160E Safety of Flight Qualification
December 1, 2005Latitude Technologies is pleased to announce it’s newest product the SkyNode S200 has successfully passed all Safety of Flight Qualification tests defined by RTCA/DO-160E Environmental Conditions and Test Procedures for Airborne Equipment. The RTCA/DO-160E categories tested were a rigorous mix of vibration, shock, temperature, humidity, electrical and emissions standards, each designed to simulate operational conditions in helicopter and fix-wing airplanes. Tests were performed at the Kelowna, BC, laboratories of Northern Airborne Technology (NAT).
SkyNode S200 nameplates will identify that the equipment meets the applicable DO-160E standards by displaying the following test summary:
DO-160E Env. Cat. [(A4)(D1)]-BAB[(SM)(U2F)]XXXXXXZBBXXXBXXXXX
With airworthiness testing complete, full production of the SkyNode S200 has begun.
About the SkyNode S200
The SkyNode S200 Tracker is an intelligent communication devices that enables flight-following (tracking), text messaging and voice services using the Iridium satellite network. The SkyNode S200 supports both Short Burst Data and TCP/IP data modes for economical networking, as well as provides maximum flexibility for custom configured data applications. The SkyNode S200 supports several different voice phone interfaces. Standard position reporting routines can be controlled either by a local PC or a networked (remote) application server, and is ideally suited for real- time Web-based and GIS mapping applications such as safety check-in, medical evacuation, forestry (Canadian & US) fire fighting AFF logistics, or wherever management of risk and location of critical assets is of primary importance.
