Supplemental Type Certificate Approval for SkyNode® S200

Latitude Technologies Corporation is proud to announce today its first Supplemental Type Certificate (STC) for installation of the SkyNode® S200 Satellite Communication Equipment on a Bell-212 Helicopter owned and operated by Canadian Helicopter Limited (CHL). Iridium Satellite voice and data services were provided by Infosat Communications.

Transport Canada STC number SH06-4, issue 1, approval covers all Bell Medium class of helicopters including aircraft types: 204B, 205A, 205A-1, 212, 214B, 214B-1, 412.

Latitude Technologies will continue to work closely with CHL and other clients/strategic industry partners to secure further Type Certificates on other aircraft. We remain fully committed to bringing reliable and affordable networking products and services to the sky.

Full production of the SkyNode® S200 has already begun with new installations currently operating on aircraft patrolling the Canadian Arctic to fighting fires in the southern USA.

The SkyNode® S200 is the smallest, lightest, most versatile and economical to operate voice and 2-way data communication device in the world. The S200 provides satellite phone and data networking for aircraft operating anywhere on the planet. Data functions include autonomous and host-polled asset positioning, sensor/event relay, email and custom messaging interfaces.

The S200 is well suited for air/ground logistics applications including dispatch and crew safety. It exceeds automated flight following (AFF) requirements presently mandated by US and Canadian Forestry Agencies.
